Exponents of the Indian classical dance believe that it has the caliber of creating a new and disciplined lifestyle. The Indian Classical Dance is often regarded as the form of worship and meditation. The performers of Indian Classical Dance have played a crucial role in presenting India to the forefront of the World stage. It has helped in ending the erstwhile artistic isolation.

About Guru Smt. Meera Chandrasekaran |

Kalashiromani Smt. Meera Chandrasekaran, the legendary Guru of Bharatanatyam, needs no introduction to the art lovers of Central India. A Guru, the city of Nagpur is proud of. She was born in a family of artists and her mother, late Smt. Anandavalli Natarajan was an All India Radio artist in 1950 ( Veena recital ). Born in 1952 in Nagpur, she got married to Sri. S. Chandrasekaran in 1970s, a Sr. Executive of a leading National Public Sector enterprise. |

Padmini was initiated in the classic art of Bharatnatyam at the tender age of six, when she was in KG-II. She was lucky to have met Smt. Meera Chandrasekaran as her Guru, who has been her teacher and guide to the finer nuances of this typical Indian heritage dance-form, while blending the values of dedication, devotion, determination and other attributes of life. Infact, her Guru has had a profound impact and has made Padmini what she is today. Padmini has delivered Bharatnatyam performances at various venues in Central India during her school life. She has cleared in Distinction Praveshika Poorna of Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Mumbai in November 2010 and appeared for Madhyama Pratham in Nov / Dec 2011.
Padmini takes this opportunity to salute her Guru and Guide, Smt. Meera Chandrasekaran, for being an inspiration in her life and invokes her blessings for the success of her dance career. |

Not only in Indian Classical Dances, Padmini is also a fond lover of Western Dances. She has reached the top category as a regular participant in “Summer Funk” staged at Nagpur and choreographed by Shiamak Davar’s Institute of Performing Arts, Mumbai. |
